The B Strong Team likes to say we help convert Coach Karl from a cancer warrior into a cancer advocacy warrior.
Through a storied NBA-head-coach career Coach George Karl has been an inspiration to the teams he’s coached: Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Seattle Supersonics, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets & Sacramento Kings. (Coach once commented on that list, “Sounds like I got fired a lot.”)
In 27 seasons, Coach Karl racked up 1,175 wins – 6th on the all-time list & 20 more than Phil Jackson!
But the inspiration to those of us who work with Coach on B Strong Ride comes not from his accomplishments on a basketball court. During his career he was diagnosed not once, but twice with cancer. He first battled prostate cancer into remission (2005) and then throat and neck cancer (2010).
B Strong couldn’t be prouder to stand with Coach Karl to fight cancer.
